3/4 of a year old!! How did that happen?? Bailey was weighed on the traveling scale on Thursday at 9lbs 14.5oz. If you are keeping track, that puts her at 10lbs 6oz on the docs scale (9lbs 6oz on TS = 9lbs 14oz on docs). I personally believe she is over 10lbs! Her length is up in the air - 25in. at the doc in Nov. but only 24in. 2 weeks ago. Either way, she has very long legs.
Other than the feeding drama (she is now getting 23.3 ounces a day), there really hasn't been much new this month. She is sitting about the same but I think she could pull herself into a sit if she wanted. Tummy time is not happening anymore - she starts flipping back over before I even put her down. It is funny, but not productive. She stands well with support but no steps or pulling up on stuff. She has starting bouncing when she is standing. She started waving this month. Cute story: My mom was playing with Bailey's toy cell phone and holding it up to Bailey's ear and saying 'hello' - Bailey waved the first few times! She likes having a toy in each hand and hitting them together. She likes to show us the toys she is playing with but always pulls them away when we go to take them. I guess sharing is something that needs to be taught! Her favorite toy this month is a little Simba (Lion King) toy. She will drop everything when she sees the lion at Grandma's house!
In Bailey's small world, her daddy is extremely funny. He just has to look at her and she busts out laughing. She has only laughed for me once. But Blaine walks in the door and she just can't stop! Grandma H. also gets the laughs...well, I guess everyone but me gets them. We are still dealing with a heavy duty case of separation anxiety. When she is napping, I try to put her down but she just wakes up and cries. I was able to put her down for 30 minutes on Thursday, but she hadn't napped in 9 hours.
This month also marked the first time her mickey button popped out of her stomach. Blaine picked her up off the couch and the cord was stuck under the arm and it pulled the button right out. Blaine was all calm...and I was not. I was panicking thinking about all the stories I have read about parents not getting it back in and by the time they are seen at the hospital it's to late and the kiddo has to have surgery to place it again. So I ran to get a syringe and pulled out the water out of the balloon that holds it in place and gave it to Blaine and he put it right back in her stomach. 3 hours later I remembered that I should have washed it off before putting it back in - hopefully it won't cause any problems.
Happy 9 months, Bailey!!
